I never paint dreams or nightmares.
I paint my own reality.

painting

Painting is the product of perception. To each person, a painting will mean something different. Visual representation is accomplished through the use of shade, nuance, intensity, shapes, lines, color and texture. These separate qualities combine to articulate form or even a story. Julian Bell expresses the mystery of painting as follows: "Let us be brutal: expression is a joke. Your painting expresses- for you; but it does not communicate to me. You had something in mind, something you wanted to ‘bring out’; but looking at what you have done, I have no certainty that I know what it was..."
